Shared files password

I never get logged in because it always says that the password is bad and I know the passwords I'm entering are correct. I tried this from both win 8. I'll check out the article and see if it will fix the issue next week when I'm back at the customer's location. I do know that a home group will fix the issue because I have non-windoze machines that are supposed to access this share. This thread is locked.
